Privacy Policy
Last updated 3 October 2026
Kindseal is for making a keepsake page for one person. This policy explains, in plain words, what we keep, why, who helps us, and how to have it deleted.
The short version
- We keep only what we need to build, publish and deliver your pages.
- No analytics, no ad trackers, no tracking pixels in emails and no view counts.
- We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
- Pages are private by default: they live at an unguessable link and ask search engines not to list them.
- Deleting your account deletes your pages, photos, voice notes and visitor posts straight away.
Who we are
Kindseal (kindseal.com) is a website that offers a service, not a company of its own. It's run by CariBoard Online (cariboard.com), which is registered in Trinidad and Tobago. In this policy, “we” and “us” means them. We decide how the information described here is used, which makes us its “controller” under data protection laws. We follow the Data Protection Act of Trinidad and Tobago first, and respect the rights the law where you live gives you.
Questions about privacy go to privacy@kindseal.com.
What we collect
Your account
Your email address. You sign in with a one-time link we email you, so there is no password to store.
Your pages
What you put on a page: the text, the recipient's name, photos, voice notes, and settings such as the theme, an optional passcode and the occasion. This includes anything you write about other people, so please only add what they would be comfortable with.
Gift emails
If you ask us to email your page, now or at a set time, we store the recipient's email address, your name as the sender, your message and when to send it. We use the address only to deliver that email.
Visitor posts
When someone who opens a page sends a private reply, posts to the memory wall or lights a memorial candle, we store the name and message they enter.
Payments
The amount, currency, WiPay transaction id, the last 4 digits of the card and the time of payment. You enter your card details only on WiPay's secure payment page. They never reach us.
Technical information
Like any website, our hosting and backend providers handle technical details such as your IP address and browser type when your device connects, so they can deliver pages and keep the service secure. We don't use this to build profiles of you.
How we use it
- To run your account and sign you in.
- To save, publish and show your pages, and deliver gift emails you ask us to send.
- To take payments and keep the records the law requires.
- To send emails about your account and pages, such as sign-in links, receipts and a warning before an old draft is deleted.
- To limit abuse, for example by capping how often someone can post to a page.
- To answer you when you write to us.
Where data protection laws ask for a legal basis, we rely on: providing the service you asked for (our contract with you), our legitimate interest in keeping Kindseal safe and working, and legal duties such as keeping payment records.
What we don't do
- No analytics tools and no advertising or social media trackers.
- No open or click tracking in the emails we send.
- No view counts on pages: we don't record who opens a page or how often.
- No selling or renting of your data, and no use of it for ads.
Where your data is kept
Your data is stored in the United States, and our providers may handle it in other countries too. Where the law requires it, we use the safeguards our providers offer for moving data between countries.
If someone made a page for you
A page is made by its owner, who decides what goes on it. Anyone with the link can open it (and the passcode, if the owner set one). Search engines are asked not to list it.
Private replies go only to the owner. Memory wall posts wait for the owner's approval before they appear. Memorial candles appear right away; the owner can hide or delete them.
If a page about you includes something you'd like removed, please ask the person who made it. If that isn't possible, or the page is harmful, write to privacy@kindseal.com and we'll look into it.
How long we keep things
- Unpaid drafts that haven't been touched for 60 days are deleted. We email you a warning first.
- Drafts you delete stay in an archive for 30 days, so you can change your mind, and are then deleted.
- You can unpublish a page (and publish it again later) or delete it for good at any time.
- Deleting your account deletes it immediately, with all of your pages (including live ones), photos, voice notes and every visitor post on them.
- Payment records are kept for accounting, with personal details removed.
- Removed photos can stay in our content delivery network's caches for up to about 24 hours.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, get a copy, delete it, or object to or limit how we use it. Most of this you can do yourself: edit or delete your pages, or delete your account. For anything else, write to privacy@kindseal.com. We may need to confirm it's you, and we'll reply within the time the law requires.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Kindseal isn't for children under 13, or under the higher age of digital consent where you live. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Keeping it safe
Connections to Kindseal are encrypted (HTTPS). There are no passwords to steal: you sign in through your email. Page links are long and random, and you can add a passcode. Card details never reach us. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change matters, we'll tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect.
